🕊️ Community Involvement
Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Archangel Michael
Community Volunteer & Social Media Support — Bradford, ON
While attending the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Archangel Michael, I noticed something small but significant: there was no way for people to know the service times unless they came to the church and read a printed schedule on the door.
So I proposed a solution — to manage the church’s Facebook page and make it a more accessible space for community updates.
I began publishing regular posts about service times, events, and celebrations. My goal was to make it easier for people to stay informed and feel more connected, even from home.
It wasn’t about the likes or followers — it was about giving back in a way that truly helped. This experience reminded me how digital tools, used with purpose, can bring people closer together. And that even small contributions — like a well-timed post — can have a meaningful impact when built on care, trust, and consistency

The Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Archangel Michael became more than just a place of worship — it felt like a second home. A tight-knit community where everyone looked out for each other, and where contributing, in any way, came naturally.
I found different ways to support — sometimes helping set up for services, offering a hand during busy gatherings, or capturing moments with my camera so we could share them with those who couldn’t attend. Over time, I also supported the church’s Facebook page by posting photos, service updates, and reminders to help keep everyone informed.
It wasn’t about recognition. It was about being present, useful, and helping a place I cared about stay connected — online and off
